A quick project that I used to familiarize myself with Subsurface Scattering in Marmoset. This was also an opportunity for me to play around with other fun effects like Newton's Rings and secondary reflections.

The greatest challenge was trying to obtain the look of particles/matter inside the ball when light passes through the ball. I was finally able to resolve this by creating some cards with an alpha and placing them within.

I sculpted the high poly model in Zbrush, retopologized the low-poly model in Maya, baked the high poly maps in Marmoset Toolbag, and textured in Photoshop.

The programs used to create this project:

Autodesk Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, and Marmoset Toolbag.

No Generative AI was used in the making of this project.
